Where to go for free covid PCR testing, in NYC + How to keep others from getting covid from you

I contracted covid again - and like everything, I'm using it as an opportunity to learn about myself, what my body needs, and confronting the questions of my need to earn and my responsibility to protect my communities.
The guidance from the CDC is sound, practical, and easy to follow. I'm talking about respiratory transmission and healing.

The free testing "Express Testing" is also a great resource for the undocumented - it is open to all.

Update 09-27-24
My PCR covid test came back negative! I went for the PCR yesterday through the link above, and got the results 24 hours later.
I'm thinking I actually do have covid, but the test is negative because my viral load is low enough to be undetectable. Also, the person who transmitted to me has symptoms and tested positive by rapid antigen test, and I tested positive through rapid test 3 days ago.
Usually when an antigen or PCR test is negative, it means the virus is present in a very small amount, a sign my immunity is doing it job at a well enough level for me to recover.
For me a negative PCR while is not a reason to risk exposing others. REMEMBER, you have to meet BOTH criteria to be considered safe to expose others - five days since symptoms appeared and you're getting better, and no fever for at least 24 hrs.
Today is day 4, so not time to unmask or see clients yet. This is evidenced by the requirement at my new job as an EMT - work is allowing me to come in for new-hire processing on what will be day 8, but they are still requiring me to wear a mask that day.
Also, covid can become more severe at any point, so I need to make sure (especially at my age) that I prioritize rest, relaxing, mental health, and supportive foods. This is also part of my strategy to stack the deck in my favor so I don't get long covid. No time for that. Starting day 12, I'll be biking 22 miles / day in cool weather to do EMT training.
Take care everyone!!
